St. John’s go head to head with Latymer School and win 22-13!

Our Senior Netball Team have had an extremely successful netball season so far, playing in four competitive fixtures and victorious throughout. The students have beaten tough opposition, in particular, Latymer School.

Throughout the matches our shooting has been strong, from goal shooters and goal attacks Aileen Ajibade, Adaeze Akande, Klara Ismail and Magdalena Yiacoumi. The students work very well together as a team, and are implementing the skills and tactics learnt in training, into their game play. Holly White, Ellie Hall-McAteer and Lily Harbron have shown confident attack play up the court. We have also seen lots of impressive interceptions, as well as turning over the oppositions centre passes by our defending players Alex Koncar, Haley Danso, Simay Akarsu, Eva Carne and Rebecca Bode-Odeyemi.

The Senior Team is led by Lily Harbron this year, who is mature in her role and dedicated to training and playing in all fixtures. Our Senior Team players, Lily and Haley, also help to coach the younger Prep School students. We continue to have Senior fixtures in the New Year, and training will continue on Tuesday lunchtimes with Miss Foley and Miss Frendo.  We look forward to the team hopefully continuing their winning success in 2018!
