Netball Borough Finalists!

The Second Form Netball Team have had an excellent week of netball. Getting into the Borough End of Season Tournament final and then in a different competition two days later going on to beat the current league leaders Latymer in a league match.

The Netball Tournament for the Enfield Borough Schools took place at Southgate School. We had tough games in the round stages, finishing on equal points with Latymer which meant we ended up playing extra time, again finishing on a draw. Golden goal time came next, with Latymer annoyingly scoring so we went through to the semi-final playing the other groups winner which was Southgate, the hosts. We was determined to get into that final. We beat Southgate and moved into the final against again our earlier rivals Latymer. We unfortunately lost this match so finished as tournament runners up, which is still an excellent achievement.

However, revenge is sweet as two days later we were back playing against Latymer, this time for the league competition. This was a fast paced, highly skilled match and it was very tense and close throughout. But as the final whistle went we were a goal ahead and won the game 14-13. Excellent performance and determination was seen by all players. Georgie was voted as player of the match. Marlie, Selin and Nehir were also exceptional in the Borough tournament.
Well done girls!
